Our bathroom was from the 1980s and was already leaking into the neighbour's ceiling for the second time when we finally decided to do a full renovation.   • An installer rolls blue waterproofing membrane onto a floor with a drain. The surface is primed first, and membrane application begins once the primer is dry.

    Waterproofing

    Two-layer waterproofing starts at €13/m². It covers the floor, shower walls up to 2 metres high and other walls up to 30 cm. Before applying the first layer, Vannitoaremont 24 checks the concrete moisture level: membrane applied to a damp base can lose adhesion and bubble beneath the tiles.

  • Finished shower room with a glass wall, illuminated niche and linear drain. By the end of 2025, 1,174 square metres of class B tiles with barefoot slip resistance had been laid on shower floors.

    Shower room construction

    Shower room construction starts with a floor slope of 20 mm per metre towards the drain. A complete shower room starts at €4,200. When replacing a bathtub with a shower, Vannitoaremont 24 tests the drain with water before tiling so any slope error can be corrected in the concrete.

  • Nearly finished WC with a wall-hung toilet and small wall-mounted basin. At the end of the job, the team cleans the WC and hallway so the room can be used immediately.

    Bathroom Renovation

    We take a bathroom renovation from demolition through to fitting the sanitaryware. A full renovation in a panel building starts at €7,480. The written quote includes a day-by-day schedule, so you know when noisy work takes place and when the bathroom will be usable again.

    A complete toilet renovation starts at €1,900 and includes replacing the toilet, installing a wall-hung toilet frame and checking ventilation. Vannitoaremont 24 builds a 20 mm per metre floor slope towards the drain, keeping water from a cistern or bidet shower from flowing into the corridor.

  • Finished sauna with illuminated benches and a heater. Light strips sit beneath the front edge of the bench boards, away from the sauna steam.

    Sauna Construction

    We build electric-heater saunas in apartments and private homes; an apartment sauna starts at €4,470. The washroom floor beside the sauna slopes towards the drain. We check that slope with a level before applying the membrane.

Does the Quote Include a Schedule?

Yes: after the site visit, we send a written quote with a schedule where each job has its own working days, and in the panel building we also write the condition of the riser in the written quote. 2,731 written quotes with schedules had been sent by the end of 2025.

What do we do in the bathroom of a panel building and what in a detached house?

In a panel building, we replace the original sanitary cabin, in a detached house we build several bathrooms or sauna washrooms at the same time. Of the 291 bathrooms repaired by the end of 2025, 176 are in panel houses instead of cabins and 115 are in private houses, wooden houses or stone houses. In the private house, we always ask if the water comes from a borehole and where the waste water goes, because it affects the choice of faucet, drain and flushing box.

Is the Repair Fee Divided into Installments?

Yes, for three: 30 percent is paid at the start, 50 percent after tiling and 20 percent upon handover, the last part only after the inspection of the finished bathroom. The same procedure applies to the overhaul of the apartment and the sauna, where the second part is paid after the installation of the lining tiles.

Will your team remove the old bathtub and demolition waste?

Yes: the old tile and demolition waste go into a construction-waste bag, which is taken away from the site by a car with a forklift, and the old bathtub and toilet are taken away by the team on their trailer. By the end of 2025, the forklift truck had removed 1,127 big-bags and 397 old bathtubs or shower trays and 636 toilet bowls with a trailer.
